Recognition for Sustainable AI Infrastructure

OSLO / EIDSVOLL: Boreal Core has been recognized at the AIA Awards for its work building one of Europe's most sustainable AI factory facilities — the Stensby AI Factory in Eidsvoll, Norway.

The award highlights projects that combine architectural excellence with environmental responsibility. Boreal Core's infrastructure model — building data center space and power for partners to lease and operate their own AI workloads — stood out for its commitment to 100% renewable Nordic energy and zero-emission operations.

A New Model for AI Infrastructure

Rather than selling compute as a service, Boreal Core develops and leases the underlying infrastructure — space, power, cooling, and connectivity — allowing partners to run their own AI factory operations on sovereign, GDPR-compliant Nordic soil.

"This recognition validates our approach," says Gurpreet Singh Randhawa, administrative contact for the Stensby facility. "We build the foundation. Partners bring their workloads. Together we deliver AI compute with a fraction of the environmental cost."

Sustainability at the Core

The Stensby facility leverages Norway's renewable hydroelectric grid, Nordic climate for efficient free cooling, and zero-emission building strategies — aligning with Eidsvoll municipality's energy and climate plan.

"This is not just a technology center, it is a sustainable future project. The goal is to minimize greenhouse gas emissions in line with the municipality's climate plan," Randhawa notes.
